Allegiant Stadium is a domed stadium in Paradise, Nevada. It is home to the Las Vegas Raiders NFL team and cost $1.9 billion to construct.
Completed in 2020, the stadium’s first event was a Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints which the Raiders won.
Because of the covid-19 pandemic, none of the games in the 2020 season had spectators. Indeed the team’s owner vowed not to attend a game in person until spectators were allowed.
The first Raiders game of the 2021 season did have fans in attendance. However, they had to show evidence of a covid-19 vaccination or be vaccinated in the stadium. Spectators were expected to wear masks.
As the stadium is still relatively new and also because of the pandemic there have been very few events held in the stadium other than Raiders games.
These include the 2021 CONCACAF Gold cup final, concerts by Garth Brooks and Guns N’ Roses and the WWE Summer Slam.
The stadium is also home to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Rebels college football team. Initially, their college games were limited to a maximum attendance of 2000 spectators.
